John and his wife Cindy reside in Hannibal and are very active in the community. John is a graduate of Palmyra High School, Attended Missouri Western State College and Wichita State University. He is 2005 graduate of Leadership Hannibal sponsored by the Hannibal Chamber of Commerce. John Serves on the boards of the Palmyra Library, Hannibal Nutrition Center and is a commissioner for the Planning and Zoning of the City of Hannibal. John is also the 2011 President of The Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce.

I was born and raised here in Hannibal. I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. From 1985 to 2008, I sold Real Estate here. I spent the last 2 years in California.
I learned a lot of things out there. One is that there really is no place like home when it comes to Family and Friends. I learned how to hike long distance and day hikes, and to climb mountains with ropes and scrambling without ropes. Learning to do those taught me attitudes that I will take throughout life. Those attitudes also allow me to work better for you. Putting on gear and climbing a mountain takes skill, patience, and the attitude that once you start up, there is no turning back. In other words, there is no giving up. To do this takes knowledge of the climb, the tools to do the climb, and the backing from your partner. It takes a team of 2, which means you always have someone else's life in your hands. Hiking and climbing always throws unexpected obstacles up at you. You have to be open to changing directions.
